Would you break the law if it meant your health or your life?

Would you break the law if it meant your health or your life?

How about trying to sleep in a room that is 115° and knowing that you have an air conditioner available but BY LAW YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO USE IT.

Most people are unaware that this unhealthy and totally avoidable situation is what thousands of truck drivers are faced with under the new EPA's anti-idling regulations that prevents drivers from idling their trucks during times of extreme weather conditions.

Violators of these regulations in some areas risk fines up to $10,000 per day and one year of imprisonment.
Here is an example of some of the rules and penalties compiled by state
If you have any stories to tell regarding these anti-Idol laws, we would love to hear from you.

please call the show this Saturday 10am PT 646-721-9887 or send us an e-mail at talk@KRBNradio.com and we'll read them on the air.

this is a very important issue that needs to be brought out to the public's attention... hope you can be there.

one of the things it was very interesting regarding the show, was the fact that it was very obvious that unless you were a truck driver or unless the law directly affected you, you didn't really understand or really care.

Basically, the anti-idle laws with all their good intentions, are forcing people whom make a living by living in in their trucks to suffer from heat exhaustion or face hefty fines just to try and be comfortable.

So what if somebody told you while you were shopping are waiting for somebody in a parking lot on a really hot day that you had to shut your engine off and stop running your air conditioner.

I would bet that you would tell them where they could stick it.

Well, especially with the price of fuel, trucks do not just idled or engine for hours just for the heck of it.

Very few states actually take into consideration the adverse weather conditions regarding these laws and many areas do not have any alternatives to providing air conditioning such as "IdleAire" or even providing outlets that a driver could plug a small air conditioner into.

But the trend with the EPA and the states if left unchallenged these laws are going to get more stricter and people are literally going to start dying.
