Georgia governor signs sweeping immigration law

Reuters - Yahoo News--

" The Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act, signed into law by Gov. Sonny Perdue, denies many state services paid for by taxpayers to people who are in the United States illegally.
It also forces contractors doing business with the state to verify the legal status of new workers, and requires police to notify immigration officials if people charged with crimes are illegal immigrants."
"Other provisions of the law prohibit employers from claiming a tax deduction for wages of $600 or more paid to undocumented workers, impose prison terms for human trafficking and limit the services commercial companies can provide to illegal immigrants. "

""If you are not a U.S. citizen, you should not receive a U.S. benefit," said Steve Bray, a Georgia resident who was waving a U.S. flag and said he supports legal immigration. "

Awesome - Great stuff Robin - Let's hope we can get someone in office who will do the same thing for Oregon...

So, if the State of Georgia, can deal with this issue, what's wrong with the Federal Gov't? If work is unavailable for illegals, they won't come here - what a concept. If fines are imposed, employers won't hire illegals - oh, my God, could it be that simple? Maybe the Feds should be smacked with a two-by-four to get their attention first....it works with mules.

Some interesting figures, The Pew Hispanic group says that roughly 11.1M illegals are here, and of those only 7.2M work (Making up 4.9% of the total workforce in Amercia).

Unemployment figures for March indicate that 4.7% of America is unemployed (About 7M People).

On one hand those numbers look great - we could eliminate the illegal aliens and in theory employ all of our unemployed people and still have a need for 200K people. On the other hand, total employment could/would lead to inflation as companies are competing for bodies.

It presents an interesting paradox. I'm with Georgia on this issue, but I'm not sure how we solve the other problem.

If Georgia can do that, surely Oregon can. Naahh!!! Not with Teddy the K and Guillermo Bradbury in charge. But Teddy the K will not be on the November ballot, but Guillermo will still be around to wreak havoc on the state for two more years.

A thought: Has anyone wondered if these two might be getting some "campaign contributions" from Vincente Fox? No!! That would be illegal, wouldn't it? About as illegal as aiding and abetting the illegal aliens in getting drivers licenses and voting privileges and welfare they don't deserve.

Wonder what the odds are in our Oregon Governor doing the same? LOL - yeah, he's a do-nothing joke, even allowing a state office in Medford to fly a Mexican flag not too long ago.

Bradbury? He should be arrested as a fraud!
