Scholarship Season

Yes, it is that time a year were students scramble searching for money for school while trying to keep up with their studies and other responsibilities.

Depending on the scholarship, we have to answer questions such as, "discuss with your significant challenges or accomplishments and its value to your life... or what is your long-range education and career goals or why you feel golf should become a primary sport over baseball."

Although these questions sounds simple in nature, whenever you are talking about yourself, it is actually not as easy as it seems.

Just like when you go to a job interview and the employer asks you, "I should hire you because..."

Not unless you're one of those people who have tons of self-confidence and can easily sell refrigerators in Alaska, these questions are usually very difficult to answer. Why should you hired me?

responding that they should because you're cute, very seldom gets you the job.

The deadline for a lot of scholarships or at least the ones that I'm applying for is March 1, 2006.

so the rest of the week I will be playing catch-up with the homework, juggling the hours with the internship that I started today and thinking about if I should ever mow my lawn at some point this year.
