Congressman Tom Tancredos' letter to Attorney General Gonzalez about dog Chapman's extradition

Tom Tencredo--

(Excerpts from Tancredos' letter)
... Duane "dog" Chapman... has been detained on the behest of the Mexican government, and is linked to the capture Chapman made in Mexico. [Where] he could be extradited to Mexico, where bounty hunting is a violation of law.

" now, three years later, at the request of the regularly uncooperative Mexican government, your department has decided to use taxpayer resources to send marshals to Hawaii for Dog Chapman? This administration routinely tells Congress that they cannot secure our borders and immigration system due to the lack of resources. We are told that the US Attorney's office in border states are simply overwhelmed with cases and cannot prosecute all the violations -- even some of the serious ones. Yet somehow they have plenty of time to track down a Mexican drug smuggler and give him immunity so he can testify against our border patrol agents. "

I don't think anybody would argue that dog did wrong by not returning for his hearing, however, you can't help but wonder if there is more to this story behind the scenes.

I just think that Dog was an easy target... and a target that would make national news of how we've support Mexico.

Tom Tancredo is my new hero.
If you would like to sign an online petition to ask Mexico to drop the charges against the dog go topetition
This is just another example of Americans doing a job that Mexicans won't do.

Orwell would be proud. They arrest the man who brings a serial rapist to justice. They prosecute the border guards for trying to stop a drug smuggler. The president calls Minute Men vigilantes for trying to help the border guards do their duty. I will not vote for anyone that doesn't include in their agenda a willingness to secure our borders and remove these invaders. I don't care what position they are running for.

Of course there is more behind this than meets the eye. How about starting with the Attorney General. You will notice that his name is decidedly not Irish or German.

One has to wonder what he is getting from Mexico when all this is over.

Maybe he will let Vincente Fox bypass the system to get U.S. citizenship? Or maybe a few thousand shares of PeMex oil stock?

I'm quite certain it is something political... like possibly over a recent prisoner exchange.

Mexico has publicly stated that they do not like the fact that we are beginning to better enforce our borders and to put restrictions on their citizens from coming over to our country. And what better way to slap us in the face then to have a public figure such as dog Chapman who has arrested more than 3000 fugitives, some of them Mexicans I'm sure for bail jumping to be extradited to Mexico for the same charge.

In addition, this action was guaranteed to make primetime news.
