I came from Mexico through Arizona... what's the problem?

Robin's Commentary

I was going to write a whole big article with details similar to the song "Alice's restaurant" along with 8 X 10 color glossies about today's march regarding illegal immigration. Instead, I decided to shorten my commentary by asking one question of the people who enter this country illegally and are requesting citizenship.

Would you recite the following words and say them as though you mean it with your heart?

"I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."

In some cases, INS allows the oath to be taken without the clauses:

". . .that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by law. . ." the oath of allegiance

You come to this country, and call it to your home. Are you also willing to defend it from foreign invaders?
Are you willing to abide by its laws?
Are you willing to learn the language of the land which is primarily English and a requirement for naturalization?
"Applicants for naturalization must be able to read, write, speak, and understand words in ordinary usage in the English language. Applicants exempt from this requirement are those who on the date of filing:
· have been residing in the United States subsequent to a lawful admission for permanent residence for periods totaling 15 years or more and are over 55 years of age;
· have been residing in the United States subsequent to a lawful admission for permanent residence for periods totaling 20 years or more and are over 50 years of age; or
· have a medically determinable physical or mental impairment, where the impairment affects the applicant’s ability to learn English.
Sec. 312. [8 U.S.C. 1423] "

You asked for amnesty...

amnesty comes at a price...

are you willing to pay it?

I have been listening to the kids born in this country who are fighting to keep their illegal parents in this country and they all tell us how their parents are good immigrants and work hard so the child can live the American dream. Hmmm..if they are here illegally, they are not immigrants, they are trespassers. For myself, I really don't think someone who is illegally here makes a good law abiding citizen. If they break one law, they will break another. They don't want to be sent back to Mexico, so maybe we should change the penalty. Jail time? What was the old saying "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime." I believe that the illegals KNEW what they were doing when they settled in and began to breed. They were banking on the children being US citizens and saving them. Maybe that's the clause that needs to be changed.
If we keep allowing illegals amnesty, our country will overflow. Unlike China, we don't put a stipulation on how many children a person can have. Many countries, Mexico included, don't believe in birth control, so most families have 4 or more children. Which means with one illegal worker, we get 5 or 6 people added to our country - not just one. Instead of stopping the adults, maybe we should put restrictions on the children.

Isn't it ironic that they break our laws and then demand their "rights"?

Is it even more ironic how people in our government support these criminals?

Even more ironic... is that it is a misdemeanor to enter this country illegally!

A misdemeanor!!!

You violate our borders and you slap on the hand.

And then we're going to reward these criminals with a "guest worker" program if you happen to dodge the law for five years.

In reality, it's all about cheap labor and votes.

"What you mean vote? They can't vote!

They can... and they do.

Bush wants more money for homeland security... why should we give it to him? He won't even take care of our own security of our borders.

Yesterday's march throughout the United States was a perfect example of the INVASION and sheer numbers of the criminals and their supporters.

Senator King [I think that's his name] that Lars quotes all the time with a very simple solution... but the IRS handle it.

At the end of the year, match everyone's name with their social security number. If the names do not match, then the employer loses a deduction for the employee.

That takes the money out of the picture in the major reason why they cross our borders. That is one reason why they are very upset over the HB 4437 which would make it a felony to enter the US illegally. And it should be a felony.

Otherwise, why we spending the money to defend our borders?

The guest worker program...

Is that a program that will require them to learn English?

Did anyone hear Lars' interview with Kurt Gustafson yesterday. He is the teacher that disciplined a kid in his 7th grade class that said,"Good!" when the teacher suggested that the illegals might have to leave the country. This idiot teacher also said at the end of the interview that "Undocumented Workers" is a race and that being against the invasion of the illegals is "racism". Now that is WAY over the top, even for some knothead liberal.
