Robin's commentary --
Given the recent death of a Osama bin Laden by US forces, president Obama has been [of course] on the news taking credit.
of course, it is very difficult based on our government history to not think that there is some type of conspiracy behind this or the timing of bin Laden's death.
Obama's ratings have been very low and typically in the past when a sitting president had announced that he is running for another four years... you are constantly bombarded with news with people chanting "four more years" which I have not heard yet.
so I have to ask the question based on recent events, does that change your mind of who you're going to vote for in 2012?
In a recent poll by local TV station KVAL which asked the question, "which candidate do you support for President in 2012?"
Acknowledging that these polls are unscientific the results so far still surprise me.
As of this writing, president Obama is leading by 37%.
My feelings on Obama is disappointment. I was hoping that he would be "different" than the normal GOP BS that we've been offered.
John McCain, to me was just another "President Bush"
Hillary Clinton, I think the name says it all.
Barack Obama, made a good sale. "Hope and change"
As America, we bought the lemon and I'm hoping that this time around we have learned our lesson.

There are some interesting folks: Huntsman, for example.
I was amazed that the GOP ran with McCain; that was a guaranteed loser.
Trump? It's to laugh. Romney? Nope. Huckabee? Nope - though at least the latter two do have something Barry's never had: experience.

If it's a conspiracy then its timing is terrible. We just *had* an election less than 6 months ago and there's not another one for 18 months.
Remember the "9/11 mosque"? Now that was *excellent* timing. We heard non-stop news coverage up until the election. Politicians ( most if not all Republican ) ranted, raved, wasted time that should have been spent doing the job we elected them to do. After the election it dropped off the news radar.
Obama ( Brock, Brook as you call him - you don't need to stoop to third grade level behavior ) may end up pulling a few publicity stunts as the election approaches but this is not one of them. It's way too early.

To answer your question about my 2012 vote :
I'll probably vote for Obama in 2012. The only other potential candidate that I *might* vote for is Paul and I don't expect him to be nominated.
Now, here's a question for you:
Did the recent death of bin Laden make your personal opinion of Obama go up or down? This isn't a "gotcha" question or any attempt at a trick - but if you actually think less of Obama due to bin Laden's death and ensuing events I would be very interested in hearing why.
Sorry for the "third grade behavior" comment. I see a lot of such errors that *are* intentional and thought that this was another such "mistake".

By the way, I personally would be worried if Obama had *not* taken some credit for the killing. Wouldn't it concern you if he said that U.S. forces had killed bin Laden in a well organized raid that had been in the works since August but he ( Obama ) had nothing to do with it?

by the way in answer to your question about how I feel about bin Laden, I am old enough to have seen many of these tricks and maneuvers before from our government when they are either trying to hide something or when you're down in the polls hoping to turn their approval ratings around.
In fact, the White House is very surprised that Obama's approval ratings did not go up at least 10 points after Osama bin Laden's death.
But as one radio personality put it wisely I think, there might have been a moment of "yes about time" or "great for America" but then reality of the financial situation and the recessions sets back in.
