Actor Fess Parker, famous for playing American pioneer Davy Crockett in Walt Disney's classic 1950s TV series, has died in California at the age of 85 of natural causes.
Another loss of a great human being. I had the pleasure of meeting him one time at the Lane County Fair Grounds, I believe it was in the mid-sixties. God he was a huge man. Or was I just small? I had a coonskin cap and leather chaps and jacket when I was a kid. Played Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone. Never got the Bowie knife however.
