The Politics of Immigration


"The Politics of Immigration: Confronting our past, constructing a future" a forum on immigration to be held at Lane Community College, November 28 from 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m. in Building 19, room 257

The event is sponsored by Jim Garcia, Chicano/Latino student program coordinator and his invited guests include an immigration lawyer, Mike Samonoa who is an ethnic studies Professor at LCC representing the open border point of view and Springfield city counselor, Dave Ralston.
it should make for an interesting discussion

After reading the article this morning it looks like Dave did pretty well. He based his argument, not on emotion but more on facts. Good job Dave!!!

Kudos to folks at LCC for inviting Dave to the panel and not make it one sided.

I did not get to attend but I did send invites to the media....did any of them show up? Considering how much attention they gave Dave for his comments before, I thought they would jump at the chance to catch, I mean quote, him again.

Front page of the RG. Actually a nice article. I agree with Sid, Dave armed himself with facts and not so much emotion. It sounds like he did very well.
